What's new in the toolkit

Every release of the toolkit, newest first, in the same three parts each time: what a release requires (setup that has to be in place), what changed for you, and what to do after upgrading an existing folder. Most releases need nothing from you.
This is the toolkit, installed with one prompt in the Claude desktop app. The downloadable toolkit from the portal has its own page: What's new in the downloadable toolkit.
Which version do you have? Ask the assistant "What version of the toolkit is this?" in your toolkit folder. To move to the newest one, see Upgrading the toolkit. The assistant also tells you, once a session, when a newer version exists.

What changed- A page pushed from this folder before is checked against what the platform holds now, not only against a version number. The freshness record keeps the hash the platform stored at each push, and before pushing that page again the assistant asks the platform for the hash it holds and compares the two. That catches a change another hand made in the gap the version counter cannot see. Nothing changes for a page never pushed from here.
- The operating guide is shorter and inside its budget again. The offer table, the backup narrative and the zip-push steps now point at the reference files that already carried their detail. No rule changed.
- The workspace map says that
PREFERENCES.mdandNOTES.mdship with the toolkit.
- Nothing to do. Existing freshness rows without a stored hash keep working; the hash is added the next time each page is pushed.

What changed- The toolkit's own version number is yours to hear. The guide's rule about not narrating machinery now says what it always meant: the platform's per-page version counters stay in the assistant's notes. Which toolkit version you have, and that a newer one exists, are said plainly.
- The brand card's worked example is a production one, and the reference material names only the production portal address. The assistant still reads which environment a session is on from the platform, as before.

What changed- The assistant knows which Python to run:
python3on a Mac,pythonon Windows. A Mac already has it. Where the command for the machine is not there, the assistant says so once, in plain terms, with what to install, and carries on once it is — it no longer stops short or works around the toolkit's own scripts. - The preview still works on a Mac when the side pane does not open. The pane's setting can only name one command and names the Windows one; on a Mac the assistant starts the same preview itself and gives you the address to open in your browser.
- An SVG logo is measured with nothing installed. The assistant asks for the SVG before mentioning anything to install; only a PNG or JPG logo needs an extra package.
README.mdsays, in one sentence, that the toolkit's helpers run on Python 3.

What changed- Connect before you install.
README.mdnow puts the connector first, so the toolkit's first session opens by reporting your connection rather than the absence of one. Neither step changed, only the order they are read in, and the folder warning now sits with the install steps, where the folder first exists. - The checkout notes name the platform's menu listing by its current name, so an assistant reading them saves the menus under the action it actually calls.
